About Crichton Central
Criffel View
Crichton Central is located at Criffel View within the beautiful Crichton Estate, an 85 acre parkland estate in Dumfries. The historic sandstone building underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in 2020/21 and has been transformed into a modern, accessible café, lounge and co-working space.
The functional and inspiring co-working space, meeting rooms and event spaces opened in 2021 and are also available to hire within Crichton Central and in our other venues.
The Space
Crichton Central complements our other services and facilities at The Crichton and enhances our local community. Offering a collaborative centre for learning and rural innovation to freelancers, innovators, entrepreneurs and businesses in the South of Scotland, Crichton Central is:

Our location
The Crichton is already home to over 100 business, third sector and academic tenants and partners and has stunning grounds and gardens, one of the largest auditoriums in the South of Scotland, a hotel, business park, college and university campus, bistro, spa, bar, church, farm, dairy centre and nearby golf course. It is a beautiful historic estate with iconic sandstone buildings and a fascinating history as a psychiatric hospital.
